My wife and I bonded over cannabis edibles

I have a very delicate palate, and I always have.

This gives me a heightened sense of taste, but also makes me very vulnerable to bad smells.

The senses of taste and smell are so intimately connected they cannot be separated from one another. I have always been weak when it comes to allergies, and pollen in the air, and my lungs have always been problematic when it comes to smoke of any kind. My wife is a big time marijuana smoker, and this has been an ongoing issue in our relationship. I think we managed to bridge the gap when we started getting edibles from the local cannabis dispensary. To be clear, with my sense of taste (called a “tasters palate” I have been told) I loathe the taste of cannabis edibles. I don’t want to start a whole debate, I know some people love the taste, but to me the ground up marijuana in some of the edibles tastes like chewing grass. Other edibles utilize CBD or other cannabis infused oils, but in these cases I get a strong plastic taste. All of that said, I enjoy cannabis edibles a whole lot more than having to endure secondhand smoke. There is also the benefit of enhanced closeness between me and my wife, because we can share a plate of space cakes and laugh with each other all night long like back when we were first dating. With all of these great things I get from eating the cannabis edibles, it is totally worth to endure the gross taste.
