My mom and dad are really unhappy with me right now.
I decided to pack up all of my things and move to the other side of the state.
For the first time in my life, my parents are going to be more than a phone call away. After I finished high school, I started working for a small construction company. I was making really good money and I bought a house. I lived across the street from my mom and dad for thirteen years. Then I got hurt on the job and I couldn’t work in that physical career anymore. I took a job working in a medical marijuana dispensary. I became certified to take medical marijuana as a prescription for chronic pain from the accident. My parents were really unhappy when they found out that I was using marijuana. They were even more upset when I found out that I started working at the dispensary. Now they are ready to chain me to the barn. My mom and dad think that marijuana is affecting my decision making ability. They think that marijuana is making me crazy. They don’t understand that I am unhappy here. I have a chance to live with one of the guys that used to work with me at the medical marijuana clinic. I already accepted a job with another cannabis dispensary. I interviewed on the phone with the manager who sounds totally fun and cool. I wish my mom and dad were happy for me, but instead they try to make me feel guilty for wanting to get out of this small town.
