When I found out my husband had cancer, I thought it was the end of my world. I couldn’t see him going through all the treatments. We talked with the doctor about everything he would need to go through. They were going to perform surgery first and then he would have to go through radiation and possibly chemo. My husband was already in a lot of pain, and as soon as they started his treatment, I could see him beginning to lose weight. He was losing it so quickly that I was worried. I knew he would need all the nourishment he could get if he was going to survive the cancer. I tried to make him everything he liked, but just the smell of the food was making him sick. The oncologist gave us some information that he was sure would help, but it had to be our decision. The information was about medical cannabis therapy. We went to a group therapy session with other cancer patients and their families. They advocated the use of medical marijuana to help ease the pain and nausea that was part of the cancer. Marijuana was also able to give the patient an appetite. We got the medical marijuana card and then headed to the legal marijuana dispensary. They gave my husband some samples and then we bought some other marijuana products. I was thrilled when my husband told me he was hungry. It only took a week of marijuana treatments to begin getting an appetite back. Marijuana gave me back my husband and made his cancer treatments much easier to handle.
