I work for an SEO company & I am totally online based, and every one of us have started hiring people from all over the United States to work for us.
They just need internet access & the right skill set.
It is cool when you figure out where everywhere is from, and recently I was on a work call with a member of the SEO team. I noticed the girl was vaping on the call. Afterwards I talked to her about it. I informed her that smoking cannabis on a work call wasn’t professional. I also told her that unless she is a medical weed customer, she can’t do that. Well the girl actually is from a recreational cannabis state; She lives right next door to a recreational marijuana store. Apparently all the people are super lax about cannabis use there. You can smoke in a cannabis cafe & a lot of other people smoke on the job. She didn’t even realize that for a northerner like me, it was quite shocking. My state only offers medical cannabis. You have to do quite a bit of work & paperwork in order to obtain the card as well. Every year you need to pay a fee & do the process all over again. I don’t even think anyone with a medical weed card, and nobody would even feel about smoking at work either. So it was up to our supervisor on what she felt was appropriate. Could the girl vape on a video or not? Everyone had a difference in opinion based on where they lived.
