The basics of starting a grow room at home

Want to try your hand at starting up a grow room? Living in the city as we do, there is not the freedom to grow outside, or even to have a greenhouse.

  • Even if you have roof access it is far too public for growing what we really want to grow.

The smartest course of action is to keep it all indoors, away from prying eyes, but you need a fair bit of equipment to do it right. If anyone tells you all you need is a sun lamp, they are full of crap, that is pure amateur status. If you want to grow hybrid strains, top quality cannabis, with high THC content, you need to sink a little money into the setup. Being able to fully regulate the light, the temperature, and most importantly the humidity level is the key to maximizing your cannabis production. To be clear, I am in no way talking about growing marijuana to sell it. That is illegal, and these days it’s a stupid thing to do because every town has a cannabis dispensary which is totally legal. It is also legal to grow your own cannabis for personal use, and that is what I am talking about. So while we are not growing hundreds of cannabis plants for bulk sales, we still want to get the best yield from the few plants you do grow. Depending on how much you smoke, you could end up saving a couple thousand dollars a year by growing your own personal cannabis, so think about a grow room!
