I wanted to own a cannabis dispensary.

When I heard that marijuana was being legalized in our state, the first thing I thought was that someday I wanted to own a marijuana dispensary. I started taking all the online classes I could find that taught all the laws and regulations that go with owning a cannabis dispensary. I needed to know the rules governing the bartenders that worked in my medical marijuana dispensary. I even needed to know the rules and regulations of the surrounding states. I could believe all the laws the states had. Once I had all the classes done, I needed to learn how to be a store owner, and how to keep the books. The state needed special bookkeeping if you owned and/or managed a medical marijuana dispensary. I thought it was funny how they even had a class on how to plan for the inventory in your area. I didn’t want to be the owner of one of those corporate marijuana dispensaries, but I didn’t mind thinking about one day being the owner of several marijuana dispensaries around the area. It’s funny, because I never used marijuana itself, and since it was only legalized for medical purposes, I wasn’t going to try it now. I couldn’t afford to have my license revoked before I got to use it. When I told my mom what I had been doing, she was in shock. She asked if being the owner of a marijuana dispensary was really what I wanted to do with my life. When I told her it was no different from owning a pharmacy, she disagreed, but she felt much better about my chosen profession.
