My family has been farming for the past 100 years. My dad and his dad started growing marijuana on the farm. It wasn’t legal back then, so they kept it for personal use and never grew more than they could smoke and sell to close friends. After some time, the laws changed and my dad was forced to make some serious decisions about the farm. He had to quit farming marijuana or find a way to make it a legal business. I was helpful in that department. I went to college for marketing and advertising. I helped my dad complete all of the paperwork necessary to apply for the permits. After that, we talked to a couple of lawyers. It took 16 months before the government finally signed off on the farm, but now my dad grows medical and recreational amrijuana for a number of pot dispensaries in the region. My dad has two particular strains that he is well known for cultivating. One of a cross breed of gorilla glue and lemon haze. The other strain is a sativa dominant strain made from blue dream and forbidden fruit. Both strains are equally tasty and smell great when they are blooming and budding. Now that my dad is doing everything legally, he is proud of the farm and brags about the profits from growing weed. He tells everyone that he was the first person to grow pot in this region, but I don’t know if that’s true or not.
